Family Portrait 2009
Taken just before Dad passed

Saturday

Security.....gulp

Imagine standing at the desk at Alltel completing all you need to to transfer your information and begin the new account.  We fed the children in hopes that this would deter wiggly behavior.  Ahem.  No such luck.
Helpful Nick at Alltel is asking the questions and Haleigh is wiggling away underneath the counter.  Multiple times she has been asked to stop.  Then Derek the day manager walks by and said I just got a call someone activated the silent alarm...............Bobert and I look directly at each other and without saying a word we both look down and there are these beautiful blue eyes looking up at us.  We look back at each other, then back down to her, (all the while Nick is just a typing away).  Moments later a police officer walks through the door walkie-talkie blaring away.  Haleigh sees him and says with all the innocence she could muster "I didn't do that" (blue-eyed blink, blue-eyed blink).
All I can say is thank god my children have mortified me in public by peeing their pants, lifting their dresses high above their head to show the world their goods and announcing to all of Target-world that they "have tooted and it really stinks!".  Thank heavens for incidents such as these because otherwise the fieldtrip to the back of the store to sit in big purple chairs and wait for daddy would have been far more embarrassing.
Moral of the story - if you have a 6yr old, that wiggles (A LOT) and you decide
to chance it and take her with you cell phone shopping do not be surprised when said 6yr old activates the silent alarm and the local police provide their services.  Mmmmm.  Motherhood.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and the moms-to-be.
